Having Trouble with Dometic Fridge Temp Control

Everything seems to operate as usual except today the temp is barely reaching the minimum desired temp. Its a 4 door Dometic. I have it set on 5 the coldest and we aren't openning the door unless absolutely necessary. The manual is of no help.

I did check the older posts on this forum but came up empty except for a suggestion to use a fan to help evacuate the hot air duct on the outside of the RV.
So far nothing seems to improve cooling.

Its sitting at 40 degrees on the display and the guage we bought is showing just barely cold enough to keep food from spoiling. Any ideas how to make it colder or what might be wrong with the fridge?

The best to improve the performance of those fridges is to add the fans in the outside chase.

Is this fridge in a slide?
Which RV is the fridge in?

Oh how would you mount the fan to the chase? Computer type fan?

The archives are your friend. Numerous photos and techniques on how to improve the operation of the RV refer. Search fans, refer performance, etc.

Chrisc40 I had the same problem with my Dometic RM1350 until I followed the instructions in the Owners manual that recommended starting the frig up between 4 and 10 PM. This start up time changes the time the defrost cycle begins avoiding the high temp time of day.
See the Dometic owners manual.

I grabbed one of those battery operated interior circulation fans for about $14 on Camping World last year. I set it so the air is moving unobstructed up one side of the interior of the fridge. I have the temp set to 5 to begin with and after about 3/4 hours it's down in the upper 30's. Once it gets down to 34 ish I set the temp back to 3 unless it's really hot out & the sun is hammering that side of the RV, then I leave it at 5. I keep the awning out if it's not too windy and it keeps the section where the fridge is in the shade which I think helps? Was hot here today and I just checked the temp and it's at 34, sun is receding and it's cooling down, fridge stack fans aren't running now as they were earlier in the day.

We also have the 4 door 1350.
Fans will help tremendously.

Also, be sure to check the flapper on the lower left door to be sure it comes completely closed behind the roght door.

We had a problem with ours cooling a few times and it was because the flapper did properly seal and the cold was leaking out. You couldn't feel it unless you got down near the bottom and then you could feel the cold pouring out.

I found no way to adjust so we've got used to closing the left door and pulling forward on the flapper before closing the right door.
