Help needed for filling tank

Can anyone suggest how to get the chlorine in my fresh water tank on my Georgetown 2007 37ft Moterhome.
It seems to have a valve on the fill spiget, which needs the force of mains water to open, which wont alow me to poor in the chlorine. It is causing us to have to use bottled water unless we are on mains water.
It seems incredibly diffacult to do this job, which is advised by every book, but with no explination on how to do it.
Thanks M. Lunde

Welcome to the forums,

It's quite easy.

Connect the hose to the motorhome, pour your treatment in the other end of the hose and then connect to the spigot and fill your tank.

Creating access hole in fresh water tank.

I tried the hose method and found it quite messy...I'm a clutz...so I (gained access) cut a hole in the top of my fresh water holding tank. 1 1/2 inch hole saw. Sever the neck of any plastic bottle. Find your handy tube of Goop and have at it. One cup of bleach per 55 gallons of water for killing unfriendly bacteria in tank and lines. Flush well!

Boyd:

Thanks, I am going to try your idea, but first, I am going to see if I can by-pass the inlet valve.
I had tried filling the hose, and found the same as you. What a messy waist of time.
All the best
