Help please with my tv antenna

This is my first trip out in our XLR Boost 27QB and we get nothing from the tv antenna and I suspect it not connected correctly at the booster box. Can anybody take a look and help me out.

I just make sure that the green light is on on the booster and turn the tv on. My antenna does not go up and down or anything like that.

Normal function is to choose between cable or antenna in the TV setup. Of course the button needs to be turned on for antenna. Both sides must be scanned once chosen. Additionally, after scanning I go to the antenna strength setup page and adjust direction of best strength.

Are you saying that's how mine is actually hooked up or that's how it should be hooked up? I have no idea which cable colors are which here which is part of the problem, that and I'm stupid.

Not stupid, just haven't had a problem like this....That's the factory cable routing..,can you look at the back of outside cable/ sat hookup?.....That'll tell you which color is which.....These might not all be wired with the same color going to same connection, so my colors might not match yours
Would also be a good time to check for bad crimps on cable ends and loose connections

Help please with my tv antenna

Do your neighbors where you are staying get reception? There are times because of tree cover and distance from towers I do not get anything. The Omni directional s do not have as good of pickup as the old winged directional ones.

I have the same type of booster. When I bought my tt new it worked just fine. The next season we started having trouble picking up signals. The signals would come and go. So I bought a King Jack and it was the same. I took the booster out of the panel and started checking for loose connections, found a few that were 1 or 2 turns loose. I checked all the cables and all the way up to the antenna.

So while I had the booster out of the panel and with the cables running straight I turned on the tv. Well it worked fine. I put the booster back into the panel while the tv was on and as I got it back in the signal was lost again.

I disconnected the booster and looked it over real close. I found a hair line crack in the printed circuit where the center lead was soldered to it. The panel is thick enough that it put pressure against the antenna lead terminal causing stress.

What you could do is run a lead from the antenna to the tv and see if you get anything.

I set up another antenna and connected to the Sat connector on the outside of my tt and then to the tv. It works fine without a booster.

The orange cable is the one that goes to the antenna.

In his pics the sat is the grey one hooked to the single connector. The orange one is from the antenna and is where my printed circuit broke on the opposite side of the board where the solder joints are for that terminal.

I don't have access to my tt now as it is closed up and I would have to uncover it and move the slide out to get to it to take pictures. I could do it tomorrow but it would take most of the day.
