HELP with TT lock

Since Harvey did a number on our home have been using the shower in our TT. Went out this am to turn heat up(29deg here) all was fine. Went out a little to shower but door was locked. Did not use the dead bolt did not lock it at all. Seems like the lock is holding partilly. Now can't get in heat is in high. Any ideas on the lock issue?

Sounds like Moisture in Lock assy! Don't know if you have it in Texas but auto parts in the North have "Lock Ease" spray for frozen locks! Youroo!!

Thanks, I think I have some from when I was a Chicagoian.. Seems like the dead bolt some how was engaged. Tried both upper and lower lock, top seems to work but dead bolt seems like something may be stripped. Wonder if the dead bolt can slip or something and become engaged?

A few years ago there was recall on RV door latches. It would jam up to the locked position.

Ant thoughts on how to get in with minimal damage. Was thinking on removing screws from the escape window and entering that way.

I was inside my MH when my door would not open, the latch that opens the door was working but the spring loaded part that allows the door to be opened by pulling on the latch had broke. So i had to use a phillips screw driver to take the lock apart from the inside. I then ordered another lock since it cannot be repaired. If that happened to you take some tools inside when you climb into the window of your trailer.

Previous owner got locked out in an RV park. Had to force entry. Was fun realigning the door!! This is an issue that has been mentioned here several times. Fortunately we were inside when it happened to us. Hiding a key for that lock and only using the dead bolt might be the best way.

Issue solved. Removed emergency exit window over dinette. 8 very tiny screws hold it in. Rrmoved problem lock( discovered broken casting causing dead bolt to engage). A quick trip to my friendly TV parts store. Issue corrected. Thanks for the help

Getting locked in or out is scary !!!
I spray our locks several times a year with Dry Lube !!!
Do not spray locks with WD40 !!!

Further update. The deadbolt slide casting failed. Broke and slid into the locked position. No way to fix other than removal.
