We are looking at traveling from Lakeview, OR to Winnemucca, NV towards the end of October, and was wondering if anyone has used that route. What shape is the highway codition. We are pulling a Flagstaff 27'RLWS trailer, and have used it on many a trip. Any information would be appreciated.
I've driven that road a few times. The road is in good shape.
About 52 miles east of Lakeview, you will have to climb Doherty Slide.
It's ~3.2 miles of windy curvers, with a ~1000 ft elevation gain with ~ 3-8% grade.
Once at the top there's large gravel area to pull off on if you need to.
