Home from a week of camping without the Tracer

My son and I got home yesterday from a week at Massawepie scout camp in the Adirondacks. No Tracer last week, just tents and cots. No electricity at the camp. Just a sink setup for water. It was out 2nd year there. Brian is 12 and earned his merit badges in woodcarving, rifle and lifesaving. He just needs to get a couple of things signed off and he will get his MB in first aid. Last year I went as the father of a first year scout. This year I am an assistant scoutmaster. I worked with the 2nd year boys on their Barkeater. We had 19 boys from 10 to 17 and they had a great time. They all survived without their TV/video games/phone.

While we were there the DW packed up with the 16 year old daughter and Sheepdog and made the 600+ mile trip up to Acadia NP and got a little 1 room cabin for the week. They got home late last night and had a great time.

Now we get things together to hook up the camper and the whole family is going down to Williamsburg Va in a couple weeks.

I went to Massawepie when I was a kid. I love the Adirondacks. Lots of memories. Sounds like you had a great time. Acadia is beautiful also. Cadillac Mt. I miss it, haven't been there in 3 years.
