I try to turn the out side switch off as I break down to head home. I use and extend a stay on my MH. When I disconnect that, thats when I turn off the electric switch. Thats the last thing I turn on after setting up.

We have a new (2018) Flagstaff 29KSRS and currently on our maiden trip. Turned on water heater on electric at control panel - works fine

Turned on water heater on gas and get a fault light ?

I made 2 rookie water heater mistakes today. Winterizing...I guess I never drained the tank...no damage I can find. Dewinterizing today...removing anode to retape...came out with pretty good force. No damage, but big mess with stuff I had strewn around in prep for next weeks trip. Lesson learned

FLT light comes on initially. Wait...... system normally tries to light 3 times (light on all this while), and if/when it lights, the FLT light goes out. If FLT light stays on all the time, it never lit.

Are you sure it is a Fault light? It may only be an indicating light that you have the gas turned on to the heater. That is what my light is for. Turn it on when someone is taking a shower and go to the heater to see if the gas burner is working.

There is a little lamp above the switch that lights when turned on till it is lit and working, then goes out. That's how my Suburban WH works. I changed my switch to one like the water pump. Its lit any time the switch is on. Now I don't forget.
