How do you wash your camper?

I went to the storage lot where my trailer is and I realized that it looked very dirty. It had mud and dirt on it from my trip 2 weeks ago and it was also yellow from pollen.

How do you wash a travel trailer?

At home in the driveway.

The HOA doesn't like it much but it's usually gone in 24 hours or so. I've also seen people do it on the street.

I've seen them at car washes too.

I wash mine in the street, I use soft bristle brush after I wash with power washer then. I hit it with the foam gun, not so much to clean it but the foam is a wash and wax or now has a ceramic coating. Using the foam gun means I lay the product on heavy and even. My truck been way cleaner longer since I used this method with the ceramic. I wax every other year by hand two day job

You wax your trailer by hand? I never thought about doing that. That is an arduous task to say the least.

It’s why it’s a every two year ordeal, this is my down year. Start early in morning work until about 10 or 11 then it’s usually too hot.

I wash my Truck and Hawk PopUp with Turtle Wax T-75A Zip Wax Car Wash and Wax. I use it quite heavy about 4 to 5 glugs per gallon and the surface feels and looks as if done by hand.

Same way I wash my vehicles... a split bristle brush and a garden hose.
Mine sits right next the garage. I also wax by hand but use Wash Wax All in between.

Be very careful with a pressure washer. R/V sealants and seals are NOTHING like an automobile.

My HOA doesn't like much that I do but the feeling is mutual, I don't like them much either. They gripe about RV's parked in front of houses that are being readied for a trip, garbage cans out more than a few hours after the truck goes by and picks up, and believe it or not, garden hoses left connected to faucets in the front (even if neatly coiled).

They don't seem to notice houses that haven't been painted since 1997 (when development was created) or lawns that look like a Detroit vacant lot.

As for washing, I use regular car wash soap and a hose in front of the house to wash off mud or heavy road dirt. Then use Wash/Wax All about once a month or so while parked on it's pad in my back yard. Note: Love there Pole and Wet/Dry mop head. The push button extending capability on the pole is great.

A friend of mine takes his class C motor home to a truck stop that has a drive through wash. I think he said it cost $60 but was well worth it. You might check out that option.

We use a car wash most of the time. There are a couple we really like with catwalks on both sides so we can get the top too. I usually don't squeeze the trigger for extra pressure unless I'm hitting the tires and wheels. Pre-soak, soap, rinse and spot free rinse does the trick and if it's really bug full up front I'll use the brush. Well worth the $15 - $20 for our 26 foot trailer. We do have a slide out that remains in at the car wash, so when the trailer is at home or we're parked with the slide out, I'll wipe that down.

I hear you.. same boat here with my HOA. However, they won't let me put my camper even in the back yard.

Wash ours in the driveway using Meguiar's wash/wax and a long pole brush. Then I pull it into the barn out of the elements.

For those times I want to make her shine, she'll get washed then waxed and sealed in the barn. I use a Porter Cable orbital polisher to apply the cleaner/wax (usually Meguiar's) and then to apply the sealant (Wolfgang Sealant, etc) on top. The polisher makes it easier but still a lot of ladder climbing. One day I'll get a scaffold or even better a lift.

I actually washed and waxed mine last weekend. This was the first time I used the foam sprayer with the pressure washer. It worked well all I did was quickly go over it with a wide brush on the pole. For waxing I put it on by hand and used a Ryobi buffer. It looked great!

I envy you guys who wash at home. My water here has so much calcium in it that if you drop water on your foot it might break it. Last time I washed my MH it had white spots all over it. I have to use a truck wash with hand wash and dry, almost a Franklin by the time I tip the workers.

Wow glad we do not have an HOA !!!!!

Camper is usually stored at the campground. A company comes around and we pay a RV wash company to wash the roof and the sides while we are camping.
