I-5 thru California

In late March we will be driving south from Oregon through California via Interstate 5. Any suggestions on where to stay along the way that has easy off/on access? We're looking for spots for single nights, probably won't unhitch our R-Pod; w/e/s hook-up would be nice, but not necessary.

Just looking for something that's easy, cheap and safe to rest before another full day of driving I-5.

We did that trip last year (Central Oregon to Yosemite). I highly recommend the Allstays App. Once you start getting where you might want to stop for the night you can pull up the map for the area you’re in and see what’s ahead, what they’re rated, phone numbers to call, etc. The nice thing is that you should have cell service the whole way and can call ahead for availability.

We stopped for the night at Happy Time RV Park in Dunnigan just north of Sacramento. Mostly full timers. We watched RV rigs park for the night at the Pilot Truck Stop across the street and wished we had just done that.

I can't help with places to stay but the slow lane on I5 through ca is very rough from damage caused by overweight trucks. Secure everything in your R-Pod.
Traffic volume is also frustrating, allow plenty of time and control emotions at the display of aggressive and dangerous drivers.
