Ideal storage humidity

Is there an ideal humidity level to keep a RV at while in storage? Right now mine is in the mid 50's. Is that good enough or should I take measures to get it lower?

Mid 50's is pretty high. I have been monitoring the humidity in my unit regularly and it varies wildly. I have noticed when the humidity gets in the 50's and up you will have condensation problems, depending on the temperature. I try to keep mine below 50, but sometimes it is impossible, especially in the wintertime. I am not sure where you are located, but here in the south, humidity is a major problem. I am by no means an expert, just posting my observations. We use the Damp-rid buckets from Wal-Mart. They seem to help, but occasionally the humidity still gets pretty high.

I live in Oregon. My RV is parked in an insulated, but unheated building. I haven't noticed any condensation while in storage. We get quite a bit while camping, however. I leave one of the ceiling exhaust fans running on low during storage just to keep some air circulating. I know quite a few people mention using the chemical method or a dehumidifier. Just curious if there is a target humidity number they're shooting for. A safe zone or a danger zone.

So an update. I purchased a dehumidifier just to be on the safe side. A local RV dealership keeps one in each of their units while on their lot, so I assumed there must be a good reason.
The default target humidity level for the dehumidifier is 40%, although adjustable down to 35%. I've left it at 40%. It has collected 2 quarts of water in the first 36 hours of operation.

I have run mine at 50% for several years and have good results ( no mold). I also added a permanent drain hose ( 1/2" vinyl hose) through the floor under the shower so I do not have to empty collection pan. RV is next to house so I have a remote temp/humidity sensor in TT and base unit in the house.
