Smile Illinoisboy

Hello I am new to this forum and already I have a question. I am looking at a Forest River Surveyor sport 186 and need to know if My SUV will tow it. I have a 2004
Toyota Hylander V6. I believe my manual says it can tow up to 3500 lbs. Does anyone here have any info?. I really appreciate any comments. Thanks

with the weight of standard options and battery, it'll weigh around 3000lbs. before cargo, water and propane.

your Highlander has a tow capacity of 3500lbs., IF it has the factory tow package. this includes hitch receiver, tranny cooler, pre-wiring for brake controller and 7-pin connector.
if it doesn't have it, your tow capacity is probably 2000lbs.

you'll easily be at or over the 3500lbs. loaded for camping.

i wouldn't tow a 20' full height TT with it.
a 3500lbs. tow capacity usually means you're limited to popups, teardrops and trailers like the R-Pod.

What he said!!

A good rule of thumb is to not exceed 2/3 of your rated
towing capacity. This is your safety margin.
Why not do like I did, get the trailer-
realize you can't tow it with your current vehicle-
buy a new bigger tow vehicle.
It's the American way!!

Bigger IS better, right???
The sluggish economy is waiting for you to make a move!
