Independent Inspector Recommendations

We are the current owners of a 2000 Southwind Storm which we purchased in March of 2018. We've decided we like rv'ing enough that we wanted to upgrade. We will be picking up our new Cedar Creek (311RL) in mid April. We'd like to hire an independent inspector to do the PDI, and we're looking for recommendations.

We are purchasing from Couch's. We've read all of the negative and positive reviews about Couch's and about Forest River. Reading reviews about other RVs seems to say the same thing, there are positive and negative about all of them. We're going into this knowing that we will probably encounter problems, we just want to make sure we don't miss anything before we drive it off the lot.

Please let me know if I should post this in a different forum.

Thank you!

welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. It would help greatly if you let the forum know what state you are buying this rig in so they might provide recommendations on an inspector.

It is a new unit. If it makes you feel better to hire someone to help you go through the unit before you buy, then you should do it.
My friends did hire an inspector in CO where they bought their new RV remotely. They have still had the regular first year problems of fit and finish, but nothing major.
Good Luck!

Even a independent inspector can’t see what’s going to fail in the first few trips but will catch a lot of the little things.
I recommend talking to your sales person and plan on stay in the RV at Couches before leaving. This way you can power up everything and fill the tanks with water. Plus it will give you time to get settled before pulling out on the road for the time.

We picked up on Friday and stayed a few miles away with Couch on standby for Monday if we had issues.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions! Couch's is located in Ohio, near Cincinnati!
