Indoor storage

My wife and I have been able to acquire indoor storage for our MH this year. We've had it stored outside for the first 5 winters. So when it's inside, do I need to worry about starting engine and generator every now and then? I know it's best to run it a while if I do, but not sure that can happen with indoor facility.
Thanks for any advice.

I don't think that the engine is that critical but would fill the gas tank full to lessen the moisture in the tank,As for the generator, Get all the gas out of the tank ! Run it dry ! Ethanol gas is EVIL in small engines

We store our motorhome indoors, at home. There is no way I’m backing it out into the snow and ice in middle of winter to run the generator.

I realize Cummins/Onan advises running the generator periodically. However, they also have an alternate procedure for longer term storage that does not involve periodic running. So, I do my own thing. I run the genny carburetor out of gas after the last use (actually after every trip/campout). We seldom even use the generator on every outing, so when we need the genny again, which may be as long as 6 months later, it works fine, no problems ever. I have done it this way since 1998, so I’m not buying in to the advice that it absolutely needs to be run every month or so.

As for the chassis engine, leave it alone during storage unless you want to go out and drive around for a half hour to get it warmed up.

The ideal solution may be to install exhaust evacuation hoses in my barn to connect to the tail pipes and blow the exhaust to the exterior with some type of blower system, but I’m not going to go to the trouble of doing that.

On a motorhome, the generator draws fuel from the chassis fuel tank, so there is no generator specific fuel tank. But, I agree that the chassis fuel tank should be filled (and stabilized), and the generator carburetor should be run out of fuel.

In some areas, non-ethanol fuel is nearly impossible to buy, but I have been stuck with 10% ethanol gasoline for over 25 years and although I don’t like it, I’ve come to realize it is not as evil as some people make it out to be.

I've had a boat and encountered ethanol related issues and found it was better to empty the tank then have it filled b4 storage. Better to have 5-10 gallons of bad fuel then 85 -100 .
