Information search

Good afternoon, I just purchased a 2004 Wildwood toy hauler 5th wheel. This is our first big camper. It's in pretty good condition and so far everything seems to be working. The previous owner could not find the booklets and manuals for it so I have nothing. I have many questions so if someone could point me in a good direction I would appreciate it. Is the length of it in the v.i.n.? If so what numbers? Is there an ID plate hidden somewhere on it? How do I sanitize my fresh water tank so it can be used again? Tips and advice are also welcome please.
Thanks,
Stormryder

Is the model number decal somewhere on the trailer, usually by the main entry door?
Without the model number, it makes it harder.
Length won't be in the VIN. Have you looked at 2004 Wildwood models, on NADA? It could help you find the model number. Once you have that, finding specs on it will be easier.

Welcome to the forum.

The VIN should also be stamped on a plate or engraved somewhere on the frame. First place to look is on the side of the hitch.

The manufacturer usually supply a generic owners manual. You can take a day or so and locate every accessory or appliance and find the manufacturers tag on them. Each item, such as furnace, water heater, water pump, refrigerator, air conditioner, power distribution center, converter or inverter, cooktop / oven, toilet, awnings, and anything else you can find will have a nameplate or sticker with the manufacturers name, model #, serial # listed on it. With a google search you can locate the documents on their website. Many of the manuals are available on the light green bar at the top of each forum page in Library section of this forum.

It'll be harder to find manuals for a 17 year old toyhauler. Doubt that the FRF library has any that old since was before FRF was created.

A lot of the same appliances are still being made and used.

I also know from experience that many older appliance manuals can be found with a google search.

Sanitizing the water system is easily accomplished by adding bleach to a full tank of water. Run that through your system.

I found this info online.

Quote:
Purifying by adding liquid chlorine bleach
Treat water by adding liquid household bleach, such as Clorox or Purex.
Household bleach is typically between 5.25 percent and 8.25 percent chlorine. Read the label.
Avoid using bleaches that contain perfumes, dyes and other additives. Be sure to read the label.
Cloudy water should be filtered before adding bleach.
Place the water in a clean container. Add the amount of bleach according to the table below.
Mix thoroughly and let stand for at least 60 minutes before drinking.
10 gallons add 2 teaspoons
