Inside components of rear view camera system
Bought a 3 camera system of right, left, rear for Forest River Flagstaff Epro 19FD from Tadi Brothers. Used Furrion mount for rear, left and right were by the front side running lights for power. The cameras are wireless but need power. Ones on trailer are from running lights so car must have at least parking lights on to send power via trailer hookup to the transmitters. Rear wires all were hidden in Furrion mount that came with trailer. For the sides, I pulled the panel in the storage areas to access the light wires for power, put the transmitter next to it, and then put the camera wire between the side panel and the storage access door frame.
For inside the car, you have a receiver for each camera transmitter, a power cable for each receiver, power for the monitor which all tie into power from a cigarette adapter plug. It was a mess of wires, so I put the receivers on a board with zip ties, and then used zip ties to hold the mess of wires on the back. When I tow the trailer, I just plug in the power plug and monitor connection. The writing on the board is so on the monitor the correct camera displays in the correct area (left, rear, right). The monitor I got fits over the inside rear view mirror and will always be on so I can see my blind spots and I don't have to have extension mirrors on my tow vehicle (Audi Q7).
Just curious how others have done this.
Thanks.
