iPad and RV'ing

Doing a little research here and have some questions for you all since I am not an RV owner myself.

For those of you who have an iPad (any generation) what are some of your favorite apps that you use while on the road or in the RV?

Any app that you really wish existed?

• Forest River Forums app (of course!)

• aFree Level and Clinometer HD - I use this to occasionally adjust the bubbles on my jack and the stick-on levels on the camper.

• RV Checklist - various lists you can use and edit.

• The Weather Channel and NOAA Weather Radar - for weather updates.

• First Aid by American Red Cross - for emergencies.

• Reserve America Camping - my main reserve site.

• Google Maps

• Allstays - been looking at this $10 app as a campground guide and in planning trips.

• Sanidumps

• AAA

I perfer an andoid device myself. Besides the Rv apps, they have hdmi slots and you can connect to your tv to wtahc netflix or movies you may have riped to them not to mentio sd/micro sd slots for additional memory.

Weather network (used most often).

That's really about all. No specific RV related apps.

I like and use many of the apps noted here. For us Canadians, the TimmyMe app is a great one.

I've tried some compass apps on our iPad but never had much luck with them, so I keep a real compass in the trailer.

I just bought my DW a Nexus 7 for her birthday so we'll have to try out the Google apps to see how they compare to the iPad apps.

i use the geocache app also for some free fun. yp app helps locate places close by, dont have my tablet with me at work but most apps have already been listed. foursqures let friends keep track of your travels when you check in and some places offer feebies when you check in, Got a free oil change once for checking in at a car dealership, deserts, and food

The two I have been using most are Allstays camping app and Overdrive (lets you check ebooks out from library).

Can't think of much that does not already exist. Kind of wish some of the existing apps worked a little better, but that will happen with time.

there is even an app for the phone for a level and flashlight. :-)

I have a Barker 3500 VIP. It has three screws around the bubble that you can tighten or loosen to adjust the bubble.

Tried loosening the screws but bubble didn't move, screws just came out. But, I tried turning the piece with the bubble on it and discovered what that crank that came with the trailer was for. Learn something new every day.

I use "Coordinates" to get accurate lat/lon for determining proper angle for my solar panels, but I pre-calculate this before I travel, so on-site it's just a verification of lat/lon.

WITHOUT DOUBT, our favorite iPhone / iPad app while camping is SkyView. Played with the free version for about an hour one night, and has SO much fun with it, I downloaded the full version ($2.99, as I recall). Well worth it, and a lot of fun, especially on a clear night around the campfire!

Allstays Camp & RV, Egg maps app (for directions and satellite and street view) and Google directions.
I always verify the Rand McNally GPS routing. Been led in strange directions sometimes! I have a wifi hotspot that allows me to check maps on the go on my I-pad, very useful! Allstays shows gas stations, Walmarts, campgrounds, rest areas, etc. with links to websites and reviews.

I agree on a real compass. Having a BlackBerry, Ipad and Nexus nothing like a $8.00 CDN Tire compass to line up Shawdirect.

Loosening the screws, on its own, won't really adjust the level. It just loosens the piece so you can press down on different areas around the perimeter to get the bubble centered. Then tighten the screws back down.
