Our awning with poles and tie downs go out as soon as we park and only go in when we leave. Use an adjustable water pressure valve set to 45#. Looks like quite a few of you folks need some awning pole brackets and some painters poles.

Always BOTH!
friends of ours didn't turn the water off and their daughter had left the bathroom sink taps running after she washed her hands. they were gone for 9 hours and when they returned the campground area was a small lake... until he unlocked the door and almost got knocked over by water coming out.

other friends have lost their awnings in a freak gust of wind and had to cut the canopy off with a steak knife.

insurance covers most acts of God and stupidity though for some reason.

I can see that if you slide leaks when it is raining, it would be best to pull it in.

We don't pull in our awnings all of the time, but we should. We camp mostly in Florida in the summer and know that rain showers and wind come up just about every day in the summer.

Turning water off too makes sense. Several times after getting the TT set up I have noticed some water running out of the kitchen sink faucet onto the counter because the faucet moved away from the sink for one reason or another. Fortunately is has usually been a trickle, but if you are not paying attention, or if the faucet is over the sink and the gray water tank fills up because you have gone to Disney for 16 hours, you could have a big problem.

Never leave campground unless water and awning off and in also when very windy put beach balls under slide toppers only way to get good nights sleep just don't forget to remove before putting slides. In (put piece of masking tape over slide switches)
