Is this the end of T-Mobile HI on the road

Is T-Mobile going to lock Home Internet to the address it's registered to? This video explains their plans.

I guess it is wait and see. I have two routers, one stays home and other goes on the road with us. Not a requirement for work but I do use for computer and streaming. Will see how it goes. I host for 5 months so the router sure is convenient for the RV but I will not pay a higher price. Will fall back on my cell phone.

I have Verizon 5g at my house and it says it is locked to my address. Haven't tried to take it in the camper. My wife has a 5g Verizon iphone and her plan has 60gb a month of hotspot data. That's plenty for us.

Damn! It was working so well for us at home and on the road. The T-mobile site makes it look like they are doing us a favor by charging 3X more for the convenience.

What does T-Mobile do for hot spot data? Verizon gives us 60Gb / phone and that is plenty for us.

Yes, one’s “mileage will vary” depending upon how one uses the internet. Since we stream most of our videos, we found that the top-end data plans would run out of juice about 2-2.5 weeks into the month.

Here’s the link for their plans: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-...plans/hotspots

But if it is each phone, then you just change the phone your are using as the hotspot and get another 2-2.5 weeks of use, right? We have AT&T and that is how ours works. Each phone on the account gets 50gb of hotspot per month. We have mine, wife's, and a dedicated trailer phone, so 150gb of usage that we will be falling back on if TMHI falls out. Or Starlink which has stayed paused most of the time since we got TMHI.

I know a couple folks who are currently with T-mobile and worried about this. I use HomeFi and they've never had a problem with me taking the device with me on the road, it's been a lifesaver.

At that price, I’d look at starlink personally. Too many campgrounds I go to have weak cellular.
