I started watering around the house, hopefully cool things down a little and keep some moisture in the ground around the foundation. I can break a decent sweat just moving the sprinklers.
I'm starting to get some green grass around the house. The rest is as brown as it is in the winter. I've lost 2 pine trees, hopefully that will be all.
The only thing I've mowed in the past 3 weeks have been the lateral lines (septic system). I've noticed the past few days that the grass isn't growing there like it was.
Long range forecast states we may get a break about the middle of next week. Still too far off to know for sure or to know just how much of a break.
The last I heard, a couple of days ago, there have been 6 heat related deaths in the state.
