It's official, I'm a SOB - Jayco Precept 36C

Not only did I buy a Jayco, I went to the dark side and bought a class A. It's a 2022 Jayco Precept 36C.

The dealership delivered it to me after having it a couple extra days to finish up last minute stuff.

First drive in it. With all of my towing experience in > 40' fifth wheels, I was all white knuckles behind the wheel of this thing. I was twitchy, so it was twitchy and a little floaty. I did calm down after a trip to the truck stop (where we were parked and almost got hit by a tractor trailer).

Being me, I took it straight to the truck stop to weigh it.

Weight results- completely without any cargo. Had full fuel and other fluids, myself and my wife (375 pounds), and somewhere between 35-70 gallons of water (290-580 pounds).

If his wife finds out he's telling everyone she weighs 375 pounds he won't stay looking so good!

Congrats on the new rig...good looking and all best. Hope you keep checking in here from time to time! What were the key factors for you in moving to Jayco? Was it just the right layout or other stuff?

It primarily came down to layout. We had a list of requirements and it was literally the only one that hit them all. The only downside, is I was hoping to be closer to 35' and it's coming in at just shy of 39'. But, that's what I get when I try to shove 10 pounds of crap into a 5 pound sack.

I also like their 2 year warranty, though, we'll see how well it treats us.

Thanks! I’m down about 150 pounds from my highest weight. I’m looking forward to all of the things this lends itself to when traveling now.

Update your profile pic. Didnt even think the guy behind the wheel could be you, thought it was a delivery driver. Congrats. My wife and I go full time in a week. Summers in Kzoo area, winters in Flordia.
