jackknife sofa replacement ideas?

Coachmen Catalina Legacy 243RBS travel trailer - the jackknife sofa is extremely uncomfortable to sit on and even more useless as a fold out bed. We've owned the trailer since new two years ago and only recently tried to use it as a bed. When folded open, the seat or "flat part" is only 20" wide. The back of the sofa has two bulky cushions preventing anyone from even laying on it.
Considering replacing with the RecPro 70" double wall hugger recliner sofa. Looking for other ideas, suggestions, photos of replacements?

We are replacing the sofa/hide a bed in our trailer with the 67" theater seating dual recliner sofa from recpro.com. We're also replacing the small swivel/rocking chair with the matching recliner chair and our queen size mattress with a 10" memory foam mattress from them. The recliner chair and mattress came last week. The sofa isn't scheduled to be shipped until approx May 20th. We slept on the mattress this weekend and really like it. Also very happy with the recliner. I'm sure we'll be happy with the sofa too.
They have been very good to work with. I had several questions before deciding to buy from them. The sofa was $50.00 less from them than amazon and first time buyers get 5% off, which was about $85.00 off for everything.

We are thinking of replacing our sofa as well; can anyone tell me how to find out the weight of the existing sofa? It is a fold-out sleeper. I can't find any information about it for our 2005 Georgetown.

Yup, plan on replacing ours. What a piece of junk! uncomfortable and useless as a sleeper. The funny thing is, the recliners are just the opposite- nice, plush, leather, and really comfortable!

We took ours out and replaced with two euro style swivel recliners we found at Big Lots. I’ll find the link to the post I did for removal of the jack knife in case you need it and there are pics of what we put in.

I'm not sure what our hide a bed sofa weighed but the 67 inch wall hugger theater seating sofa from recpro weighs 198 lbs. I think our old one was close to that.

Whatever you plan to replace it with make sure it will fit through the door.

The furniture from recpro all come in two pieces-the base frame and cushion and the back cushion. You only need a minimum door width of 22". You put the back on after its in the RV.

I'd take any Jack Knife shove it out the door onto the RV Dealers ground and drive off. If I bought an RV I would demand it have a folding sofa and no Jack Knife. Folding Sofas aren't a luxury sleep either. We store a memory foam underneath out tri fold sofa. After folding the sofa I have to sit on it for a few seconds till the memory foam compresses down.

We would have loved to replace our jackknife sofa with chairs when restoring our camper, but it sits upon the fresh water tank....sofa doesn't sit on the floor....

So, we had it recovered and kept it.

Piano?

I replaced the hide-a-bed sofa in our Rockwood with a Yamaha 88 key electronic piano for the DW. She loves it. When the kids or grandkids visit they bring inflatable beds and sleep on the floor.

Our fifth wheel was 2 years old when I replaced the jack knife sofa with theater seating from Thomas Payne. We are very pleased with the quality and comfort. As a bonus somebody actually paid $ 150 for the sofa !

Replaced jackknife sofa with RecPro recliners

Coachmen Catalina 243RBS - Yanked out that crappy jackknife sofa & replaced with the 70" recliner & console unit from RecPro (www.recpro.com). Unbelievable difference! Ordered the unit on a Friday, delivered the following Monday. Extremely well packaged and easy to put together.
