Just saw this driving down the freeway.

Wife is driving and I am just watching the scenery go back. When a truck and TT passed by. I had to do a double take to make sure I was not seeing things. Because of traffic they slowed down and then passed us again. We are doing 68 mph and they flew past us.Attachment 236702

Wow! I am not sure I would want to be in that TT speeding down the road. However I have learned that it is legal in some states as long as communication is maintained.

Really ??? Well we are traveling through Mi. and I do believe it is illegal here. I could be wrong but I still would not want to be in that TT.

The only reason I am aware it was legal in any state is because we watch Going RV and it was mentioned on one of the shows. That fact blew my mind.

I looked into this when I had a fifth wheel, and that was a long time ago. If memory serves me right there are catches to some of the state rules, like DOT glass, seat belts two way communication, safety chains to name a few. I might be wrong but that is what I remember.

I wouldn't want to be in it if it were only moving at 20 mph. Couldn't be a pleasant ride, legal or not.

My humble opinion is, no one should ride in any trailer period. They are not built with any protection against a crash. Nothing but thin fiber walls on 2x2 studs or thin metal framing. They blow up like a watermelon shot with a 357 magnum hollow point! Pushers are only slightly better. OK, don't start reading me the riot act for expressing my opinion. Remember, I'm from Arkansas.

Unfortunately, motorhomes that passengers ride in are built the same way. Probably the same with ambulances, too!
