Lancaster PA stopover

Hi Folks, Flatlander here. Setting up a trip to New England this year. Was wondering if anybody had any recommendation on where to stay in Lancaster, PA for 5 nights? I've perused the internet and just see too many alternatives. Would appreciate if anybody has any experience with this part of the country?
Thank you, FloridaFlatlander

We've stayed at the Hershey KOA and the Hershey Park Campground. Both are nice.

Depends on what you're wanting to do. If you're going to Hershey Park, for instance, they both have a shuttle, so you wouldn't have to drive and park. But they both get busy during tourist season.

If you're not doing Hershey or Hershey Park, there may be more conveniently located campgrounds, but I have no experience with others.

Thanks for response. Already done Hershey a couple times. Gonna stay in Lancaster and take in the Amish experience. Internet has many listed with high marks. Just tooooo many to decide. Looking for somebody that may have stopped there for a few nights. Happy travels.

My choices would be Old Mill Stream, Spring Gulch or Country Acres. Spring Gulch would be the farthest away but also the quietest.

I'd recommend Oak Creek. Hidden Acres is also nice and quiet.

I second country acres, nice pool and an amish farm behind it. Old mill stream is a basic campground but is right next door to dutch wonderland. Also make sure that you go to millers smorgasbord (go very hungry).

Make sure you go buy some Zook's Pot Pies. Delicious. Get a bunch of them and freeze them. We make special trips up there just to get them.

From spring gulch, take 897 north to 322, make a left than next right (still 897) look for shady maple on lS. Smorgasbord, all you can eat. also open for breakfast I think but check.
continue north on 897 (road turns onto other roads, but stay on 897) you go through Terre Hill, over river, your coming into Fivepointsville, on LS look for Weavers Dry goods. They have a shoe store that has men's boots like you may have never seen before . (I think its better than places like Cabellas, etc)

another place we like to eat break fest is 897 north, RT on 322, follow to top of mountain (hill) and another mile or 3 on Left Side look for September Farms store. they make Cheese, but they also have great breakfast (lunch also I think).

897 south, RT on 340, and you will see plenty of Amish as this road will go through Paradise, Intercourse, etc.

also remember the Amish role up the sidewalks on Sunday.

We used to enjoy a buffet of you take 322 west to from 897 to blueball (rt 23) go a couple miles and look for Yoders market on RS. its a big building, on RS is a restaurant. Used to see a lot of Mennonites eating here.

I have also stayed in Mill Bridge Village.
But I used to live in the middle of all this so not much camping was done here. We used to jump up to Thousand Trails in Hershey but a lot less Amish up there.
