LCD TV'S/Highway Robbery

I have some sad new's to report today. A local RV dealer here in
Southeast Mi was broke into. This is the dealership where I purchaced
my Travel Trailer and also where I currently store it when not in use.

These folks damaged 22 units by breaking the glass in the door and
cutting the screen to access the inside. What were they looking for?
LCD TV'S!

These creeps ( I won't use the word folks at this point) damaged new
units, service units, and units that owners had in storage. I am one
of the lucky ones, before they got to the area where ours is located
they got stupid and decided to break into the building. (They already
had 3-4 LCD TV'S. They left behind everything else including DVD
players and the like. When they smashed the glass door the alarms
went off and they dropped their loot and ran. Got away with nothing.

The owner of the dealership decided to replace all damage to the
customer units at his expense. This is why I purchaced my TT
from him and why I store it here. This is what you truly call
a good dealer and a good friend.

I am glad to hear your unit was touch, and I feel for those that were. Yes you have a fantastic dealer that toke responsibility that is rare. Just this past weekend I put my rig in storage for the first time and I was going to ask the Forum if any one had experienced any problems with vandalism, well I guess I am not now. In 2000 I bought my first camper, I had to take it back to the dealer for some warranty work, well when I picked it up I noticed that the spare tire and rack was missing, I ask if they removed it for any reason and they said no. It was pretty obvious that some one stole it. The dealer would not replace it because they are not responsible for what happens on there lot and they said they never had anything like this happen before. I ended up buying a new one and I felt so honored that the dealer sold it to me at dealer cost, THAT WAS SO BIG OF THEM!!!!!!!

Nina,

Sorry to hear about that, I wish the other stealerships would take a page out of your dealer!!! Now that is the way to treat your customers, and make them come back for future purchases

This dealer has been operating for 6 years now. This is the
first time anything like this has happened. I have purchaced
two units from him. One a Jayco Pop Up and the current
TT I have now. Hope this does not happen again.

If it is the same dealer that we picked up our new unit from on 4/12 in Schoolcraft they had another incident on 4/13. The owner fired several warning shots. Hopefully, that will keep the deadbeats away.

I agree they are a great dealer.

Nina,
Just wanted to say hello. We also purchased our second TT from this same Dealer. Our first being a 2001 Sunline and our new baby 2008 Flagstaff 831FKBSS. We were also one of the lucky owners. Our new TT was not damaged.
If you are in Southeast Michigan or Northwest Ohio and looking for a Forest River Dealer, look no further. Kirk's RV is second to none! Kirk and Tammy ROCK!!! We just picked up our new TT today. Taking it on our first trip to Kings Island.

Hello Jason & Brent,

to FRF. Nice to see someone from right here in Monroe Mi.
I was not sure if I should disclose the name of the dealer in the post due to
the fact that Tammy and I talked about it getting out and about within the community.
But I now see I have caused some confusion, but Jason is right It is KIRK'S RV out of Erie, Mi.
Thank god yours was not one of them either.
Was yours in the service building or outside in the storage area. Our Grey Wolf sits up front
by the parking area. They apparently only made it to the far rear right corner where units
are stored. Mine should also be out their but since it is newer I think Kirk leaves it up front to
show the exterior if need be.

I looked in the Member area and see that one of you is a flight attendant.
And that is one big RV. Do you do any local camping around Monroe?
Our family camps quite a bit at Sterling State Park. They have a big
shingding in July, fourth thru the sixth. Fireworks, waterslide for the kids
food vendors, music and more. Hope you reserved a spot in advance of your
purchace if not maybe we will see you their next year.
