This. I'd probably be in for a shirt too.

Quite the nice campsite indeed. It was not ready when we visited recently.
So sorry about the toe, Tim. Get back on your feet soon.

I really hate to hear about folks getting injured while having fun. I'm sorry and hope that you have had the appropriate medical attention. Since I am now sufficiently disabled that my wife is required to do the driving and hitching/unhitching chores, I rethought what we needed for a hitch and settled on the Andersen. Whatever its shortcomings, flying spring bars ain't one of them. Get well and stay off that foot.

Man I'm sorry that happened... I'm sure that hurt terribly. I have the same issue when I park my camper on its pad at home; my truck is a little cocked to one side and one spring bar wants to kill me when I disconnect it.

Hope that little piggy heals fast.

Ouch!

I know two people that have done the same thing, only one of them the bar came down on the top of his foot and smashed it!

I finally did the 'No No' under my 5'ver a couple of months ago while hitching up for a trip...

Putting something in the front basement door and forgot to duck...turned around and

'WHAM'

Smacked the top of my head on my kingpin!

Almost knocked me out...hurt like heck...luckily didn't bleed real bad and had a bruise about the size of a grapefruit for several weeks!

Good thing I still have my hair...got that from my dad's side of the family.

Still is very sore to this day two months later...

I raise the tongue jack until both bars are completely loose before taking the retention pins out. Thanks for the reminder on safety for these bars. Maybe steel toed shoes for all!

Tim, I hope you heal up quick.

Unknowingly, I avoid this situation because I always unload the sway bars on level ground before I park the trailer. I also use a couple of 2x4's under the lift to make sure I can raise the level high enough to take the pressure off. You don't need the sway bars for parking or slow speeds.

Hmm. I have a pair of steel toed work sneakers. I probably should wear them hooking and unhooking!

Ouch...I know exactly how that is going to feel over the next 6 months. Dropped my hitch on my big toe in May and it's still very bruised and very painful.

Rule of thumb when removing the bars - spread your legs wide and I always wear good footwear - Crocs or flip flops don't protect.

I always thought time was the best teacher... Nothing like experience though, is there? Hope you feel better soon. I've had a couple broken toes over the years. Best I can recall, neither of them was fun.

I feel a distinct lack of trolling in this feed. So you YouTube. Take your pick
Are you sure haven't always had monkey feet?
If you can't control your spring bar you should keep it in your pants until your wife's available to help...
You look like you got a pedicure from chuck norris.
A real man would recreate it and put it on youtube.

That would present a bit of a problem, wouldn't it. But I have seen stranger looking contraptions driving down the road *S*
