Links to work-camper or camp host jobs?

I know there are websites that list camp host jobs.
Some are pay per view or subscription sites but I've
heard there are also gov sites.

Anyone here camp host?
How do you find those jobs?

It sounds like an interesting way to make a few bucks
or at least get free camping.
Once my better half retires we might give this a try!

Dan,
You can check the web sites of State, Federal(National) Parks. They usually post their Camp Host Program.

Dan, our state parks web page lists campground host opportunities and how to apply for them. I think any site that wants you to pay for the information is just a money making scam.

We have friends that do it for about 6mos out of a year and just love it. We too are thinking about it after we retire. I make it a point to talk to the hosts at most of the campgrounds we stay in and they all say they love it. We will probably plan on it while we look for land to build on after retirement, but only after we have travelled the country and seen the east coast and are ready to settle in again.

I think it would be great to host for 3 or 4 weeks and then move on to another park and another area to explore for another 3 or 4 weeks, etc. etc.

Here's the one for Michigan State Parks. We were at Holland State Park recently, and the hosts were from Kentucky as I recall.

You might try these two sites Volunteer.gov/gov-America's Natural & Cultural Resources and State Park Volunteer Opportunities I will be at two state parks this winter on the east coast where I will be camping next to the ocean. Camp hosting is fun and gives you a chance to meet lots of people. I always look forward to see old friends again every winter!

Also check with Beaureu of Reclamation. We have some great parks in our neck of the woods that are BOR that need hosts too.

Thanks everyone!

I also speak to camp hosts when possible although I don't go
knocking on their door just to be nosy. If they're out and about
I might ask a question or 2.

Spoke to a host in a Colorado state park this June. He said they
hosted all over the place. He gave me a brochure for an online
site called Workamper.com
Since he is a member he "referred me" and I can log in and use
the site for a month free.
After that it's $37 a year for online access. A few bucks more for
online & their magazine.
It's supposed to be a clearing house type place with adds for
jobs all over the place. Sort of a one stop job fair I guess.

I figured I could access each state one-at-a-time on my
own but thought
there might be a central website where many states post hosting
opportunities?

I'm still just daydreaming but in a couple years when
my wife retires I think we or at least I will give this a try.
I kinda like meeting people and we definitely want to
visit more places! We aren't ready to slow down yet!

I filled out the app and handed it in last week to camp host at the NHP that we camp at all the time. Should be on the books to work/host for at least a month next year! I know that I will be helping out October 1-2-3 of this year for an exhibit that they will be doing. Can't wait! I'm excited. Free camping!!!
