Lippert Warranty Release

While this involves a Shockwave toyhauler, it holds true to all or most models. I was having uneven wear on my tires. Took it in under warranty (about 1- 1/2 months after purchase) for the uneven tire wear and other items. The toyhauler was taken by the FR authorized repair facility to a frame straightening/alignment shop. The alignment was out quite severely, I was told. Now the good part. Lippert refuses to pay for the work UNLESS, I sign a statement agreeing to give up my warranty for any and all future issues. There was a lot of legal mumble jumbo stating I would hold no one at Lippert or anyone who ever was at Lippert responsible for anything in the future. Your thoughts.

Sounds about right, they don't stand behind much. I had issues with axles on our unit and they did nothing to determine the cause. Fortunately the extended warranty covered the cost.

It gets more interesting. Talked to Lippert. Lippert does not allow alignment by bending axles. Camping World sent mine to a shop that did it by bending without first contacting Lippert. Waiting on how this is going to be resolved. Meanwhile, I have no trailer. Waiting also to see if FR is going to cover my tires.

Time to find the right kind of legal representation and write a nice letter to them.

It is not too late to request for new axles to be installed, complete by camping world. That might avoid need for release and shouldn't take long. Cause of axle damage and why they were sent to be bent instead of replaced will be issue, good luck!

CW definitely won't want to replace the axles on their dime but I am concerned about the safety of the axles. Lippert was very adamant about not bending their axles. They say this can cause failure due to the stresses. I'm retired and really can't afford legal representation especially when the representation would probably cost the same or more than axles. But, I can't afford to chance the axles so, depending on what happens, i'm prepared to try other methods, BBB, news investigators, etc.
