Discontinued

I was a little shocked but it is confirmed. The whole Georgetown line is being discontinued.

If you check the Georgetown floor plans, you will see the whole line is Dealer Stock Only, meaning they are not making any more.

It may be a downmarket play to stop Georgetown cannibalizing Georgetown XL sales. The 5 series definitely looks cheaper but we wont really know until we see one in person and get real pricing.

This is often done when a major floor plan redesign is being accomplished.

This after Forest River just completed a brand new *huge* Georgetown assembly plant right next to the Corporate Headquarters in Elkhart?

Methinks the Dealer is subscribing to the "Alternate Facts" in order to sell off their current stock.

So strange as the Georgetown has been the top selling gas motorhome in the country for years.

Normally I would agree but with what we are hearing from dealers and the introduction of the FR5 line I think it's safe to say the line is dead.

The equivalent FR5 seems cheaper. Shorter counters, less individual drawers and so on.

Maybe it will return for 2018, who knows.

Now here I WILL agree Mike -- Series 5 is a natural progression of the Series 3.

I was just arguing that it was doubtful that the Georgetown *line* was being discontinued - until you mentioned it, I had not noticed that the Series 5 had been launched

I did earlier today but they say they can't advertise the lowest price. Is 144k MSRP for the 36B5? If so you get less for same price.

The price is for the 31L5, most likely MSRP.

I actually spoke to several dealers and a Forest River rep about this. They are rebranding the lines. The georgetown is going to be broken in series like BMW. The GT3 line, GT5 line etc. like BMW has 3 series 5 series and different models within those series.
