Looking for tips to sell 5th wheel

We are thinking of selling our 5th wheel for a bigger model. Any advice on the best way to do this? And where to find the best price to list it at? We were thinking around $20,000 but is that too high? First time trying to sell RV any advice appreciated. It’s a 2017 Forest River Rockwood UL 2440WS. Thanks

I'd start by listing it here, on the Forum Classifieds.
Then Craigslist, then RV Trader.

Before trying to sell your old camper, find out if there are any sales tax credits on a trade in. If your jurisdiction charges sales tax on the purchase of the new unit, you may be able to get a tax credit for a trade in. Many states offer sales tax credits for trade in's of registered vehicles, including campers. For example, in my Parish in Louisiana, we have a 10% sales tax rate. So, if I were to purchase a new $40K camper, my sales taxes would be $4K. But, if would get a $20K trade in for my old camper, then my taxes would be only $2k because I would get a credit from the trade in value of my old camper. I have already paid the sales taxes on my old camper. This credit avoids double taxes. Thus, it may be easier and get you the same net money to trade in for less money and not have to trouble of selling your camper. If you do have a buyer for your old camper at the time you trade in, many dealers will allow a courtesy trade where you get the tax credit with the buyer of the old camper buying from the dealer for a small fee to cover paperwork.

We just sold our sailboat. My biggest tip is to clean it. Then clean it again. Then once right before your buyer comes to see it. Pictures should be OMG spot-on gorgeous. Remove all clutter and anything that won’t be included in the sale. Open all blinds and and turn on all lights. Show your unit the way you would want to see it.
These things might seem obvious to you but it’s amazing how many awful ads I’ve seen.
When you do finally show it to a buyer, make sure there is *nothing* about the appearance that you feel the need to apologize for. And nothing you’re planning to fix.

I have sold several units on Craigslist. Better success there than at RVTrader.
Take good pictures, good description. Scams are pretty easy to identify and ignore. Post to all major cities near you. You have to have a separate posting for each city/area.

Just sold our 35' Montana on Craigslist. Got well above what NADA valued it. It was time for us to to downsize-got a FR 2008 like new pop up #1920BH. Love it.
Listed on Craigslist, Facebook, RVT.com (free sites). There's tons of units for sale out there; many people are looking for the "steal of the century" from someone who is just trying to get rid of it for whatever reason and aren't afraid to lowball-don't take it personally.
1. Take good pictures, it works. Best angles, lighting and plenty of them.
2. Clean unit: Clean is the best feature. Keep junk out of the pics
3. Include floorplan in pictures (photo in brochure was great-many commented on that was a reason to come view).
4. Most lookers were looking to live in it rather than travel - so space, slides, storage, clean and well kept, amenities like fireplace and outside shower were more important to lookers than traveling tips. Let them do most the talking.
5. Sold to a couple who were building a house and needed something temp on their property to live in.
6. Craigslist got the most, but Facebook Marketplace surprised us with the many prospects.
7. Be honest and personable-- Keep the sales pitch and/or anxiety to sell on the shelf.
8. Price it right, then get ready for some interesting calls.

Maybe because it is over priced. A 2016 should be listed at half purchase price, not list.
