Looking to buy a camper

Hi, I'm looking to buy a new camper in a few months. Currently looking at Apex 290 BHS, only because there is a local dealer within 5 miles from me. Asking for recommendations on other types and the ones to stay away from.

Thanks

Buying Camper

EG: No shortage of experience available here for the asking, however, you probably need to be a little more specific as to your needs, desires and what you can safely tow. You need a bunkhouse? What kind of tow vehicle do you have or are you going to let the TT drive the choice of a new TV?

Pretty broad question. Can you be more specific in what you want in a trailer?

5th wheel, hybrid or TT?
Stick and tin or filon/aluminium construction?
Sleeping for how many?
What will you be towing with and its specs?
Slideouts or not?

This is a pretty heavy trailer...7600 lbs GVWR. What are you looking to tow it with? Too many people are pushing the limits of their tow vehicle and the salesman will most likely not know anything about matching a trailer to your tow vehicle. Most will say anything to make a deal.

Important information needed about your tow vehicle includes year, make, model, engine size, transmission type, payload capacity, which is listed on yellow label on the B pillar, etc. Does it have a factory tow package with integrated brake controller?

Information NOT needed is its alleged max tow capacity, which is a useless, irrelevant and meaningless number put out by manufacturers purely for bragging rights. You will never be able to tow at that number without exceeding every other limitation.
