Lost my key. Need help getting into camper

My fiancé misplaced the only key to our camper. It is a 32 foot FEMA park model. Cherokee I believe. It is currently locked. Should I call a locksmith and try to have them break me in and make a key? Are these keys universal? The door handle is locked not the dead bolt.

Any suggestions?

most front doors locks are keyed diffrent

I would say a locksmith is your best bet or someone who has a lock picking set should be able to get you in the door

Good Luck

If you have an RV dealer close buy, go there and tell them what happened. They have a master key that will open any thing. That will be easier and cheaper then a lock smith.

My dealer said that the door keys are universal and the deadbolt is keyed. When i drop off for service they ask me to leave deadbolt unlocked and to just lock door so they can get in

The handle is set up for a universal key. So the dealer will be able to help you. But youwill still or should get a key for the dead bolt lock.

Ok guys I was able to get into the camper through a window and then when I went to take the lock apart I found a key code and 1800 number for ordering new keys.

Last year at the first FROG Rally in Branson, MO. someone locked the keys inside the trailer. We started around ...all of us in the group and I think the 6th or 8th key worked.....So maybe not absolutely universal.....but not too many different combinations out there.

Glad you able to get in the window and at least save a locksmith call.
