Magnesium Anode Rod $6.75
have always used this anode rod from Amazon, ... last week I went to buy more and found third party vendor Power and Supply had them much lower than the last time I bought from Amazon, ... Amazon is matching their price(for now), but P&S is without tax, ... free shipping with Prime, so an order is actually filled and shipped from Amazon, ...
anyway, if you're in the market for a new anode rod, you might be interested in this, ... last week, I bought the "only three left in stock", but I see they have restocked and are continuing the lower price(for now), so I wanted to share the info, ..... happy trailering ......

yep, .... just looked at that site, and they're lower now($5.53) than yesterday when I posted($6.75), ... that's even a better deal .... my mom always said, "a penny saved, is a penny earned" .... this is certainly an opportunity to save a few pennies, .... happy trailering ........

Thanks for the heads up Fella10. Just ordered two @5.53 each - plus small sales tax but with free shipping - will arrive 4/2.
This is a great deal!

Maybe I'm confused... Isn't ZINC the normal and preferred material for water heater anodes??

Zinc vs Magnesium anode?
I think you are good to go for either one. Longevity seems to be about the same but really depends on the water minerals in your region. Change it once a year, esp. at THAT price(!) and yea shall have no problemo's!
Safe camping and enjoy!

All Suburban water heaters come with a magnesium anode rod, as per their instructional videos we keep at this link:
http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ml#post1527599
and here is a copy of the anode rod video explaining such:

How about a little "HELP!" After reading this thread I went out to take a look at my water heater and anode rod. First of all I don't remember where I put my anode rod when I winterized my water heater. I looked for the make and it doesn't say on it outside. I know it has 3/4" pipe thread for the rod. It has one elect. sw. outside and one sw. inside for gas operation. I could go thru my paperwork tomorrow but maybe someone will chime in with the answers.
Is this the anode rod I need for this water heater. TIA for your time.

Yes, if you have an outside switch, it should be a Suburban, and yes this anode should fit it.
Click on the Suburban video guides link I provided in a post above. It's show you what your water heater will look like if it's a Suburban...which I'm confident it is.

Thanks, ordered 3 along with a tank rinser and a spare element (think I ordered the correct one). After 1 season I would say ours looked ok, some pitting but at $6 a new one each year is cheap insurance.
