Main Trip advice

Bar harbor will be crowded in August so if you plan there reserve early. If you have never been to Maine I would choose any coastal campground. There is one right outside of Bar Harbor that is nice Hadley's point. Stayed there years ago when lived in Maine. Former Maine resident. Enjoy the lobster and real clams!

We are also headed to Maine in August. Found a cool site on the bay. They grow their own gardens for the campers and have art workshops. Of course I can't think of the name but sounds fun

I dont know if you listen to podcasts or not.....There is one that I ocassionally check out called RV Family Travel Atlas. If I remember correctly they did a review of a trip up in that area at some point. If you have Itunes you can find it.

Schoodic Woods Campground is part of Acadia National Park. Acadia NP is on an island and Schoodic is situated in Winter Harbor on the main land about 30 minutes from the NP.
That campground opened last September and early reservation is your best bet since there are only 92 sites......Some have water electricity (No sewer).
I made my reservation on February the 8th (that's when they started taking those reservations......Seems like a beautiful campground.
