Forget the heater. I didn't find it to be that warm. The topper is the way to go. A nice downy comforter is great on cold nights too. Lol

Hard Mattress

thanks for your response and suggestion--I think you're right. Having a comfortable mattress is more important than the heated mattress, get out the electric blanket or comforter.

You will be able to use the heater mattress with the topper. Ours is a 2" topper and the heat comes through if we turn it on 2-3 hours before shut-eye.

If you like getting into a warm and DRY bed but don't want to sleep on electricity put a timer on the mattress warmer. Set it to come on two or three hours before bedtime and shut off at bedtime. You get into a bed that's warm and dry.

And the heat as others say will have time to move up to the top of the foam toppers. Remember that heat rises.
