Memorial Day Weekend?

Well the first of the summer 3 day weekends is coming soon and we are still on Pause here in NY State. We have already has 2 weekends at State Parks cancelled and at this point Memorial Day weekend is our next reservation.
Although it's not at a SP it's at a KOA Near Niagara Falls, I am still skeptical of we will be camping. Haven't heard from KOA or the campground yet and I realize everything is kind of wait and see.

When do you think they will allow camping at NY State Parks again? Currently we have no SP reservations until late July. Our July 4th reservation for KOA in Lake George was cancelled as well. The owners aren't even going to open this summer. Made new reservations in Lake Placid area for 4th though.
Let's hope we can camp this summer. It sucks making payments on a camper sitting in driveway, but we understand the necessity.

It seems to be dependent on the governor's orders for each state. We too, have Mem Day reservations at a private campground in mid-state NY. We hope we will be able to use them. One of the KOAs in Connecticut sent us an email that they are going to be open starting May 20th with no activities.

I have reservations that were paid for last year for Memorial Day. They at at a private campground in Southwestern NY. The campground is considered a essential business, so they are open. How ever the store is open by appointment only, no pool, no playground, no public bathroom showers or bathrooms, no gathering at other camp sites, no sharing of camp fires . We will basically be by ourselves at our campsite and allowed to take walks. Can't do much, but it will be a nice change of pace from being cooped up at home.

That will suck for those of us that group camp. I hope Cuomo lifts some of the restrictions.

We have a seasonal site in VA and just being able to go there on the weekend with the kids is so great to get out of the house, still doing the same social distancing requirements but walking in a campground is better than walking in the subdivision any day
