I also reached out to several local RV techs and no luck there either. Ended up taking it back to the dealer in PA.
Where did you buy your trailer from? What issues did you have an what model/brand did you buy?

One other place, a dealer, Hayden RV in Colonial Heights.

Good luck.
Damnit, I hope McGeorge doesn’t make it worse. The tech that I talked to seemed decent and fairly competent... you have me doubting my decision now, and should have gone with a local trailer dealer? Time will tell if they don’t get it right...

Yea the Tv issue I will eventually work that out, not too worries about it... just an additional annoyance like the caulking /quality control.
The burned or melted brake wires could be from someone pulling the emergency brake away cable. The brakes remain energized for a long time and it heats and burns the wires. Probably due to negligence by the factory, transporter or dealer.
I find it interesting the person who delivered the trailer to you did so with no trailer brakes..and said nothing about it to you.

We bought it from RV Value mart in Lancaster PA. We upgraded to a 15,000BTU a/c and when FR built it, they installed the 13 BTU. We had 2 window blinds that had holes in them and the ladder was coming loose from the back of the trailer. We bought the FR luxury surveyor 251RKS.
The answers to your questions are on post #1.

Interesting,.. when the guy checked it the first time at the dealer, he asked me to pull that cable to engaged the brakes. They came on, I put it back in. After that point everything seemed liked it was worked... until I got about 25 miles from the store and I’m guessing that’s when the drivers side burned up.

Make sure to go to the next FROG (Forest River Owners Group) get together in Goshen, where the trailers are made. Besides having a blast, they will fix everything on your repair list (even though they say only 4). Super, super great caring people. It's well worth the trip. Most repairs are done at the campground. We had an amazing time.

Is that Goshen va? If so I went there for Boy Scouts when I was younger twice. Really pretty there, loved it from what I can remember, the lake was in a steep valley, I remember that streams/rivers being beautiful.

But afterwards, we went to see Noah's Ark and the Creation Museum. It was awesome and well worth the trip.

For your sake I hope not.

Maybe you will get lucky or maybe they will just lure you in with great service and turn around the first time. All I can tell you is since 2015, I had 2 5ers spend more time there than in my driveway. Kinda tells you how much I was able to have them at an RV park....

Stay positive and i'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
