my new "gotta have"

I almost forgot to mention, that during my weekend trip, I saw the coolest thing. Everyone here loves the ambiance a good campfire provides, right? But when its 85 degrees with the sun down and humid as hell, who really wants to have one.

A family at the campground had a nice roaring fire going as we were coming back late on Saturday. And when I say roaring, I mean flames 2 feet tall. They were sitting just a few feet away from it and I wondered how they weren't bursting into flames themselves.

I found out it was a BOB LED fake fire from a company called Chauvet. this thing is used primarily by DJ's in clubs for a fire effect, without the actual burning. Quite realistic looking, and it gave off all the 'ambiance' and glow of an actual camp fire. I snapped a pic of it, and took to the internet and found you can get them for under $70. Mine is on order. The only downside I see is that it will take FOREVER to make s'mores on the thing.
