So very sorry. So many are in a bad situation. Good you’re healthy and well, at least.

Did it force the shed wall out on the curb side of the trailer, or what happened there? Clearly the supports on the curb side are gone.

I'm guessing excessive snow load on the roof. Not designed for Alaska conditions.

Bummer man! Ironic how the shelter erected to protect the RV ended up killing it.

So sorry to see these photos. Clearly, the Cardinal was a beautiful rig.

Hope the insurance company serves you fairly.

That's terrible. Were you home in Arkansas where this happened? My brother had a Cardinal before trading for a Class A. Beautiful camper.

Do you think they will fix it, or total it?

I couldn't tell what was holding up the roof on the curb side of the trailer (Right side of picture)

I'm so sorry. Stupid storm. Now you can't use it for shelter if you need it.

Same guess here. On a wide, low slopped roof snow buildup is a HUGE problem. But if one hasn't seen snow depths like this for all the years they can remember, who would have thought?

It's sad to see a beautiful rig like that fall victim and I agree with NJKris' statement on the irony.

If there's any good news in this, the roof of the collapsed carport may prevent water damage and possibly make decent repairs possible.

Back in my engineering student days, I learned that you always build for the 100 year storm, ie, the worst conditions you might encounter over a hundred year average. Wondering if this last event fell in, or outside the 100 year storm figures.

Assuming the insurance company does right by you and they total it, have you made plans for a replacement? Another 5th wheel, up size/downsize, rock star motorhome?

I would have cried but it’s silly to cry about a camper when so many are having worse issues but I’m just sick about it. I really don’t know what to expect as far as insurance (we do have replacement insurance) or if it’s totaled. We are in Florida and haven’t seen it in person but my son doesn’t think it’s repairable.
Yes, the cover was not built for that much snow. It shifted to the right and split in the middle. Contacting the insurance tomorrow. If it just would have held a little longer, we had some melt the following day. In our area, many, many covers, shops, and carports have collapsed.

I have located one just like it but I don’t know if it will still be available when everything shakes out. I loved that camper.
