Are there people out there that go to any of the races ? Which have you had great camping ? I have heard great things about Michigan and heard Talladega was wild fun.

We do Texas twice a year. They have all kinds of camping, reserved, unreserved, they have an area with 50 amp and water, no sewer, but a truck comes around often, for a fee and will take your waste! There is also property, just outside Texas, where you can park in the pasture, or there are 20 cement slabs with 30 amp and a well pretty close by to fill up your tanks. The race crowd is pretty big and Eddie Gossage has a lot of gimmicks and festivities. Its a lot of fun. We have been doing it since 2008 and look forward twice a year for the week. The unreserved camping opens a week before the race weekend. 75 bucks for a 20x40 area, we always by two so we can park to cars as well as our rigs. It is first come first serve. People usually are in line about 3 weeks, yes 3 weeks before the weekend the campground opens. We get there the night before and camp on the street with a few hundred others, its a lot of fun. We normally have a group of 10 people show up in 5 rigs and make our wagon train circle. Fly our Flags and BBQ a lot.

Up until the past 2 years I tried to go to as many as I could, but with the changes now that France has implemented and the cost of tickets I will no longer fork over my $$. This new Staged Racing BS is the end of NASCAR for me.
I really always enjoyed Bristol and Michigan. The Brickyard was Great too.

We do camp at Dover. We also camp for Richmond but not at track, in CG hour away to visit family. We are going to Darlington for the first time camping in Sept and catching Richmond on the way back.

We have camp at Atlanta every year for the past 20 years. We finally got full hook ups for this year and we where really close to track. Great bunch of folks to camp with. We also did Darlington the first year it was moved back for Labor day week end. We stayed at a cg about 30 mins away and had full hook ups and price was right. I'll admit I'm getting a little fed up with all the rules changes NASCAR is doing and ruining the sport. Layer RJD

Watkins Glen is very much a place I am thinking of going. Do they have many off track things to do and see ? Do you feel you get your "money worth" ?

We did Charlotte a few years ago for the All Star race and Coke 600. Stayed for 2 weeks across the blvd from the speedway main entrance at Ver El. The camaraderie and tailgating with the others in the campground was fantastic.

NASCAR Hall of Fame and all the race shops to tour there was plenty to do in those 2 weeks.

We do Vegas, Phoenix, and Texas races regularly. Vegas definitely has the best at track parties and facilities and really takes care of the campers. Texas has good camping also but most of the fun is out of the track area. Phoenix had really gone downhill but they are having a major upgrade and are supposed to be more like Vegas this fall. Will be interesting to see how they treat the campers now! We really enjoy the NASCAR crowd and usually camp with the same groups every year. We hope to start venturing back east and try some of those tracks. Probably Daytona speed week first.

But now we will have to pick a new driver seeing as JR is retiring
