NC campground info.....

Hello NC brethren,

Just looking for places to take the family this summer and found "Deep Creek Tube Center and Campground" (near Bryson City). Has any stayed at this campground? If so, any insight would be great?

I have no personal information about this particular campground but here is a link to some reviews.

If you would care to share some information about your family (ages, interests) and the amount of time you are proposing to stay at a given location, someone might be able to suggest additional destinations in your general area.

We LOVE Stone Mountain State Park above Elkin, NC about 15 or so miles north on Hwy 21.
They take reservations now...something they used to not do.

Deep Creek

We've stayed at Deep Creek about 8 years ago and it is a nice campgound. The sites are a little close. Bathrooms are clean. They do have a play area for kids. We drove through the campground last year and they have made the park bigger. The campground is near many tourist attractions. The town of Bryson city is very small. If you want more specifics please let me know. I live in the Asheville area.

Dc,
I know the owners of the place, I have never stayed there though as I prefer the national park campgrounds. Deep Creek in the park is fun for the kids. Smokemont is nice too.

We have been to Stone Mountain SP...not very wooded in terms of the campsites. Pretty though. Back to the Smokies region, check out Davidson River in the Pisgah National Forest near Brevard and Standing Indian in the Nantahala National Forest just west of Franklin, two gems for sure.

DC, things tend to work out in the end...most of the time.
We live about 30 minutes from Deep Creek and are very familiar with area and the national park and the national forests around here. I cant really comment on private campgrounds as I do not stay in them. However, if you want to stay in a private campground and still want or need a local perspective on things in the Smokies I will be more than willing to share. Just drop me a line...
