Need advice on new camper

Hello all,

We currently have a hybrid camper but are in the market for a new ( to us ) fully enclosed trailer.. I am currently looking at a 2011 Rockwood Ultra-lite 2701SS.. Its a one owner, they say they have only used it a handful of times since owning it. The trailer has been stored indoors in a warehouse.. The camper needs a usage type cleaning but otherwise the condition looks great. Couldn't find any surface rust which is rare in New England and even the exterior part of the water heater is super clean with no real oxidation.. So my question is, what should I be on the lookout for besides teh obvious of water damage etc. is there anything that could "go bad" from lack of use?

-Thanks in advance...

After checking the "safety" related items (tires, brakes, brake lights, etc) I think I would make the water entry points a priority. Reseal the roof, windows, doors, around exterior lights, storage compartment doors, etc. Being stored almost exclusively inside, might mean those things are in excellent condition. It also might mean they are in poor condition because no one inspected them regularly (sort of the thought of, it isnt outside in the elements so it will last longer and doesnt need to be worried about). With any luck, the seals will all be pristine, but it would be high on my list of things to check.

Semperfi 24. I am planning on roof seals etc. I guess I am more wondering if say slide wiper seals can dry out if not exposed to the sun much, also the water lines? Do they get dry and brittle from lack of use? From talking to the owner I don't feel it was abused but he was more of a use it once and park it in the garage guy, he did winterize it so that helps, but he says it's a few years since he used it...

We are also Looking at a 2010 Laredo 290BH on Saturday that is also one owner but was used at a seasonal sure until recently..

Also check the water handling equipment, like the pump, faucets, etc. I hadn't used my pump for a couple years (always city hookups) and it froze on me. Had to replace the pump. Another thing to check would be the A/C and refrigerator. Sometimes they have problems as well. We store our trailer indoors as well, but, you still have mechanicals go bad just from sitting. Also check the convertor and all the lights, etc. If it has been indoors, you may have gotten a real buy. Our last TT was 23 years old and looked brand new (and worked that way, too.), mainly because it was always indoors and out of the weather and sun. Hope you are lucky with it. It could be a real find.

Thank you guys for the advice. Unfortunately the 2701SS fell through, got sold the morning we wanted to make an offer.. But all is not lost, we found a '11 Palomino Puma 30 KDBSS in pretty good shape. I am kinda amazed at how heavy it is..
