New FR Forum App Y/N ?
I went to open the FRForum app on my "smart" phone and I was asked to update the app. I assumed I would see the familiar format when it finished updating and continue scrolling through my favorite forums BUT low and behold what I saw was a total new look which made no sense. I find it very user unfriendly let along Smart Phone friendly  ...can't get into my UserCP or read signatures of those who post. Maybe I'm just old fashion...if it works WHY change it? Maybe a survey to the membership might have help set the direction of the update format.
Any thoughts on the new FRForum apps?

You could never access your user cp from app.
Once you use it for a short while you'll figure it out pretty quickly.

FRF app works great for me. It's all I use.

It's different, but you get used to it. The missing signature MAJORLY SUCKS though.

Viewing other people's *forum* signatures on posts is missing. For instance, from the website- you have some hyperlink; from the app, you don't see that at all.
However, I also dislike the app signature because it gets added to the post. Like I quoted- if I don't want it, I'd have to manually remove it (and I'm a spazz- I "need" to remove it).

Since the changes I haven't been able to reply to much. I try but most of the time I hit the wrong button and all is lost. Sure takes the fun out for me. Use to be easy, still-don't know what I do wrong.

I agree the new app is useless. I removed it from my phone and use the internet site to open new posts etc. That works very well.

Btw were you using tapatalk to access forest river forums or just using the forest river forums app?

I don't think the app uses the data from the forum user's CP entries.
You have to put that info into the app itself through settings.

That's weird because it shows up as part of your post. I have sigs turned off, so I can't see anyone else's.

That's the difference between forum signatures (don't show in the app and are separate from the post) and what Turbs uses which is an "app signature" which is part of the post.

Ahh... I get it now.
I've never used the apps before but I've seen posters on other forums that just leave their sig as the default "sent from my android phone via tapatalk" or whatever it is.
