We went with a sleep number mattress in our RV after having one in our home . It has worked great with only one small problem, if you travel over mountain passes [ as we do in the Northwest ],the mattress pressure needs to be adjusted.

Probably the first beef of almost every new camper owner. For sure not a top quality bed. A two inch memory foam topper helped a great deal, but not perfect. Had to cut down a Queen size memory foam to fit a camper Queen size which are a little smaller. Tried inflatable camping mats which weren't bad , as you have some control over firmness, but they over hung the foot of the bed too much. Good luck on your Quest.

We tried to go the topper route but in the end we just bought a whole new mattress. I know Buying mattress is very subjective thing depending on what you like for firmness ect...

After I looked for awhile I found one from a company in California that makes medical equipment and hospital beds called Med Mattress. They make RV size mattresses and we are very happy with it. We bought the one they call the Lux Glamper mattress. Here is the web address. Medmattress.com check them out like I said we are very happy with it.

Tried the topper, sucked, went to Costco, great mattress comes rolled up so you can get it in the unit. Super Happy. This is the one we now have.

Like a few others here, we got the full queen version of the king sleep number that we have at home (going on 15 years). It does not feel like an "air" mattress at all. And the firmness adjustability is uncanny. DW likes 85 on her side, I like 95 on my side (I have a bad back).

Yes, if we are going up more than about 1000' on the days drive, we do let some air out. This has become second nature. RVTripWizard tells us the altitude gain we will have on the day's drive.
