New trailer - eyes burning

Probably formaldehyde off-gassing. But each time I've gone into the new trailer, if I don't open the doors and vents right away, we both experience an eye-burning sensation, and a faint chemical smell.

I would like to leave it open, but it's in a storage facility, so I will only leave it open while I'm there.

Anyone else notice this problem, and if so, how long before it went away?

We have a camping trip planned for the weekend after turkey day. Hope it will fade before then...

I had the same issue in mine. It is the glue used in manufacturing. I left my vents open for a couple of weeks and it ended up going away. I have Max Air vent covers on mine.
Cheers

That's good to know. The "boss" will appreciate that too!

I had such vent covers on my last RV... guess I should get a set for this one too.

Thanks for the info.

LOL,,,....Add a few Eggs, some Hash Browns and Toast, and call me when it's done!!!

Seriously, we experienced the same in our TT. I added the Aero-Flo Roof Vent Cover and left the vents open with a window cracked. Took about a week to vent out the smell.

If I close the vents and windows, a hint of the smell comes back but it's nowhere near as bad as when new.

Might have to make a trip to Camping World this weekend to get some vent covers...

Thanks gang!

FWIW, I prefer to do such cooking outside, to torture all the surrounding campsites!

I'm actually a good cook. I took a friend of mine camping in High School, and years later we went camping again, along with his new wife. He told her to "pay attention" to how I cooked eggs -n- such! LOL. To her credit, she took notes rather than kill him right then and there! If I put my wife on the spot like that, people would be talking about the "incident" for a LONG time!
