Newbie sewer and extension cords
Just got my Surveyor 265 RLDS and with all the choices of sewer connections and lengths I was wondering what recommendations as to type and lengths sewer hoses you have? In addition although I have numerous 12/3 extension cords I am wondering which cords and adapters you recommend to go with my new included 30 amp ready cord?

I have two Hoses, one 15ft and one 10ft.ive needed them once and a while. Get a 30amp extension cord. It will not be needed often but if you do you will be very happy! I kept (have 50 amps now) a 30amp to 50amp dog bone in case the CG had only a 50 spot left. They tend to be less worn out so I've found so I would use the 50amp site just because. I also had a 30 to 15 so I could plug it into our house to keep the fridge on. We store at our house.

We have 3 15 ft sewer hoses rarely have to use the third but have.
Do not use a 12/3 cord as main power at a campground unless you do not use the AC. Get a 30 AMP extension cord. I do carry a couple 12/3s for other things.

X2 what Oaklevel posted...costs more to have a 30 amp extension and may not need too often, but there are a cpl campgrounds we like going to where I know I will need it. That way you can run your a/c and all your electrical stuff properly.
As for sewer hoses...I am a big fan of the Rhino Flex stuff...throw the cheap flimsy one your dealer threw in in the garbage. I have a 15 ft Rhino that I get by with most times, then I have a couple 5 ft Rhino extensions that I can add if needed. Amazon has a great price on these as does Walmart. While at Walmart or on Amazon, get yourself a set of the Lynx levellers, they are great for helping with levelling, they are lightweight so you don't have to haul heavy cumbersome pieces of wood, and they take very little storage room...you may even consider 2 sets of those.

Recommend you get several a 5ft and one or two 10-12 ft hoses rather than one longer one. For campgrounds without full hookups, you probably don't want to be dragging a long slinky around when you are only 3-5ft from the drain. As for quality, if they are going to be out in the weather for long periods of time on full hookups, then a little higher quality will be nice. If they are primarily used at dump station then medium priced is fine. I would avoid the inexpensive ones.

A 12/3 cord is only 20 amp so get a 30 amp cord. Get a couple of high quality sewer hoses, 10 or 15 ft. High quality...you do not want a failure here!

Why? The one my Dealer threw in IS a Rhino Flex, hose, elbow/adapter, caps, etc.
As for electrical extension cord, had some 10/3 SO cord left from a project. Added RV 30 amp connectors to each end and I now have a nice 40' extension cord. Beyond that, I'm probably going to need to use the generator.

Consider a Sewer Solution setup if you camp a lot with full hookups.
You can buy as a kit or just parts. I bought the parts for each end and used a 1/2" Farm and Ranch hose bought from a big box store. So I have a compact setup that can easily reach 30 feet. Hose is pretty much indestructible. I find that the water jet that is part of the macerator does a better job of rinsing my black tank than the black tank flush does.
Added benefit, you don't need the bridges to get flow going the right way. Ads for SS say it can dump even up-hill 2-3 feet.

My choice of sewer hoses is the waste master sewer hose. It is a cam lock hose with rubber seal at sewer end it's a little pricey but well worth the cost.they also have an extension kit available. Check it out on YouTube. Best price and fast shipping is etrailer.com

Good idea to get one of those hose support stands. They keep the sewer hose off the ground and keep things flowing downhill. Some states, towns etc. require you have them. Last campground I was at the host made sure I was properly set up because it was the law and enforced.

I haven't heard that some states and towns required them. I always read the campground rules when I arrive and I haven't ever seen that in writing.

We got a cheap hose and it didn't last our first trip across the country. Had 5-6 holes in it. Now there's a nasty problem. We use a Rinoflex and are happy. Waste master is good too. We can extend 35 feet and have needed it. Fence is a definite. Keeps from punching holes in the pipe.
