NHTSA Recall Campaign #14V-190

I have received these new labels from Forest River and if I am reading this correctly they claim I am already 1231 pounds over the suggested cargo capacity! Travel trailer currently in for warranty service and I cannot look at existing safety labels! Scratching my head and wondering if anyone else can explain this?

The 1231 lbs is all you can add to the existing 5826 lb dry weight as if that was even accurate. "It'll most likely be higher"

Have you scaled your trailer?

Normal user added item run in the #1000 range not including water batteries and propane.

It looks like this may be the recall:

IMO, once you get the unit back- you need to get it weighed to find out where you're at with the new weights and then decide if you need to pursue the warranty folks for heavier axles.

I am definitely concerned that perhaps they have multiple errors in these new labels! It was my understanding that I had the heavier 4400 lb axle under my unit. Also I think for me to hit 5826 lbs I would have to park a small car inside! I think it was somewhere around 3300 lbs empty! I may totally wrong but I cannot think it would weigh close to 3 tons empty! We are talking a 20ft single axle trailer with a 4400 lb axle!

I hear what you're saying- I'd be especially concerned/surprised as I wouldn't expect this recall to cause the dry weight to change; just the cargo carrying capacity (being decreased). I'd try and see if your dealer can email/text you a photo with the current sticker.

Looking at your profile, it sounds like your camper is a Vibe 6504. The specs online show a gross vehicle weight lower than your new sticker's advertised weight:
Vibe Travel Trailer by Forest River

Something is definitely amuck.

Can you check your title/registration and see if the VIN matches?

Just received a call from Jaime at FR and the yellow labels are NOT correct! Why they were sent I'm not sure! The only label I am to switch out is the white label!

Again I will have to look at existing label on trailer to confirm but she explained mine currently has incorrect tire sizes listed!
