I was curious and looked it up on a map. I only found Linden Ct. in Bensalem which is right off of a state highway. It does not appear to be a through street. The no trucks rule is supposed to keep large trucks from using neighborhood streets as thoroughfares. If that is where you were cited I wonder if anyone who lives on that street has a truck.

I think it's really listed as Philadelphia.

Actually just west of Bensalem.

Interesting the sign says "No through trucks." If you live there with a 2500, apparently you're OK.

That's a sign for a commercial vehicle. I recon he gave you a ticket based on your registered weight . unless he took you to a certified scale how the heck did he know how much you weighed. Fight it.

Wow, 5000lb limit eliminates a lot of trucks from using that road. That' s a BS ticket for sure. 😣

Still curious as to what code is listed in violation of on your ticket, to see if it pertains to commercial trucks...which is usually what 'no through' truck signs are about.

They are still required to follow any state and federal weight laws.

OP's ticket was weight based.

The ticket should show which PD issued the ticket and the location and the exact violation.

If it was in the City of Philadelphia expect to get screwed again if you fight the ticket in Traffic Court. In Philly No Trucks includes pickup trucks according to a newspaper article I read. However, enforcement is rare unless neighbors are complaining about trucks. You could visit or call the local police station; if Philly it will say which district, a two digit number. If the ticket is still at the district you have a chance of getting it pulled by a reasonable commander. If it was sent up you are probably SOL.

If not issued in Philly, you might have more luck by visiting that departments station and pleading your circumstances.

Most cops I know are way too busy to bother with this kind of violation unless ordered to do so as a reaction to public complaints.

If your registration shows that your RV Is registered as a passenger vehicle (in NY, the reg will have "PAS" somewhere on the front, make a copy and mail it to the court, along with your ticket and a note to the court, advising the judge that you were driving a passenger vechcle, not a truck. Plead "not guilty" if that is an option on your ticket. If your RV is registered commercial, I believe that you're hosed. You were pulled over by an imbecile or a jerk (possibly both). Sorry.

My tags in NC are called weighted I pay for a gvcw of 16,000lb that way I am legal towing my car trailer with my Jeep on it. RVs are exempt from the weight on the Registration but not to excide the mafactures weight. The code is PA;4902.b

Looks like a real BS ticket.

How long are you going to be here? How much is the ticket? How much is the aggravation worth? Yes, it's a bogus ticket. Is it worth the time and money? Is it really Bensalem or Philly?

I lived in PA for decades and could not wait to get out. It has only become worse in the 20 years since I moved and much worse the last couple tears. Sadly, my brother has to remain about 3 more years.
I wonder why with all the toll roads in PA and gas tax at nearly 2 1/2 times that in NC the roads are in such terrible shape compared to NC.

When I checked the link I made above, I discovered that it actually showed a DIFFERENT section of the street than I had initially found.

The link shows a 2 block section just south east of a big green block - the Boyle Recreation Center. But if you follow an imaginary line north east in line with the road, you'll cross Bustleton Ave and find another 2 block section of Lindenhurst St.

I'm wondering which section you were on; although it probably doesn't matter in the long run. I'm not sure why any commercial vehicle would be on either section of that street unless they needed to be. Doesn't look like either section would make a good "short cut" to somewhere else.

Don't come to northern Illinois. Exactly as you stated here, too. Maybe worse.

Yep. Fight that one if sign doesn't state weight restriction. My buddy has an F350 single axle and had the same thing happen to him in Pocono area. ( not sure of exact road) but he called me once it happened. And he was told there was a weight limit. He went back took a picture of the signs he could find and took it to court. He won. Good luck

I know y'all have snow removal to pay for and winter takes a toll on roads. PA gas tax is now 78 cents/gallon and NC 32 cents. Toll roads in PA also, don't think we have any in NC. I believe the feds also send cash for roads. With all that cash it would seem roads there would be well taken care of and upgraded constantly.
