I have an Onan 5500 Marqui generator, won't stay running for more than 1 minute. Just had the carburator rebuilt for this issue. But it still won't stay On. I've replaced the oil sensor switch, fuel filter, and fuel pump.
what does the shutdown error code say? when these generators shut down like you describe they flash an error code to tell you why they shut down. look in the owners manual or online to learn how to read the error code then please post it here. some of the error codes are rather generic but they will at least point in a direction.
one thing that I ran into was having the generator shutdown due to a low battery. it must have 12 volts dc in order to run. not saying this is your problem
