One More Time

I have gone to the "Darkside" and traded the MiniLite for a 2020 Lance 2075. I fully intend to stay with this forum because of all the good inflammation.

I have read all of the threads regarding bike racks on the rear of trailers. Especially, bolted add ons. The new trailer has an integrated 1 1/4" receiver as part of the frame. I have 2 30 lb fold-able bikes I would like to mount on a 30 lb rack. The receiver is rated for 150 lb. The rack has a disclaimer to not use on a trailer.

Wondered what advice/experience others have!!

Thanks

Since trailers do not have shocks so they tend to bounce more which isn't good for either. I have followed TTs with bikes on the back and could not believe how much they bounce. A ladder rack would be more stable. If you could mount over the tongue of the trailer, that would be more stable and you can see them.

I am NOT making fun of you, because I've done way worse, MANY times. And spell check makes idiots of me very often.

But considering how some threads go around here, that is one of the best faux paus I've ever seen here. LOL

Option #1 is to get a rack that is "trailer-qualified." I know Swagman makes some. Check etrailer.com.

Option #2: Try the rack you have and see how it goes. I have a Thule TH990XT (see here: https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Bike-...e/TH990XT.html ) that's NOT "trailer-qualified." But I've been using it on the back of my Roo and Mini Lite for over 7 years, plus lots of time on the back of my pickup truck. It's working just fine.

On the back of my Roo:

On the back of my Mini Lite (under the cover).

I've added LED lights so when the cover is on and blocking the trailer tail lights, I still have lights.
