OUCH!!! That's going to leave a mark
Saw this on another camper forum. Hate it for our fellow camper and Montana owner:

A few years ago in Sherman, Texas, a dude dragged a 5th wheel under a railroad bridge in what was primarily a residential area. If he lived around there, why didn't he realize the bridge was so low? If he didn't live there, why was he cruising down that street at that speed with that trailer? Mussa been really lost.
The local TV station posted pics of the carnage on their website; it wasn't time for the next live broadcast. All of a sudden, the story/pic was gone never to be seen again. I wrote the station and asked about the wreck, the outcome, the rest of the story, and they never ever responded although they had always responded in the past. I'm assuming the driver or his insurance company or his lawyer or the railroad's lawyer or the city's lawyers made a convincing argument to bury the story.

Maybe he was dyslexic and thought the sign said 10'-8"
(Although 10' - 8" would still have shaved it, I suspect!)

Ouch. I hope he was returning home from vacation. horrible way to start.
Hopefully the insurance will give him a decent price to move onto another unit.
Vin.

Not hard to imagine. Here in Moose Jaw we have a low overpass. It has warning signs, then a set of sensors and a huge warning sign that comes on telling you your vehicle is too high and to take the exit, it has big yellow flashing light on top of the sign as well and after that a second set of sensors past the point of no return that turns on big amber flashing lights on the overpass with a sign telling you to stop. Guess what? That overpass gets hit at least once a year.

I found this specimen in the service area of a local dealership. No one would give any where/how details. Obviously, the "obstacle" was only a small amount lower than the top of this Mountaineer.

If I did that, my wife would NEVER let me forget that. I would imagine that every disagreement from that moment forward would end with her saying "Oh Yeah! Well you tore the roof off the RV!" and me hanging my head low in shame.
